Looking for a way to put a lid on desktop clutter? Just turn an empty coffee can, oatmeal box or any other canister-style container that pencil pot

comes with a reusable plastic lid into a handy holder for your kids' school supplies.

First, wrap a piece of construction paper (trimmed to fit) around the container, and tape or glue together the overlapping edges. Then your kids can draw personalized designs or glue magazine cutouts on the paper. Next, use a craft knife (adults only) to cut a series of X-shaped openings in the plastic lid for inserting pencils, paintbrushes, scissors and a ruler. Finally, glue a magnet to the side of the can for holding a few paper clips (remember, keep the magnet away from your computer).
