Try this low-pressure way
of collecting money
Like many room parents, Traci Stevens of Dickerson, Maryland, needed to raise a little cash for the year's parties but wasn't comfortable asking for a donation from everyone in the class. Instead, she sent home a note suggesting each family either give a one-time contribution of $10 or sign up to provide a snack or supplies for an event. As it turned out, most opted to give the money, which made Traci's job a little easier: "No worrying that the person who promised to send in paper plates would forget at the last minute," she says.
