Your Great Ideas for Schooltime Parties

These classroom treats, which can be made in school without benefit of oven, were contributed by folks like you.

 CHOCOLATE CHIP NO-BAKE COOKIES
1 large bag chocolate chips
1 large bag peanut butter chips
2 small cans chow mein noodles
1 bag mini marshmallows
2 cups oatmeal
Combine noodles, marshmallows, and oatmeal in a large bowl. Stir. Melt chips in microwave (many schools have them), pour over noodle mixture, and stir, make into medium-sized clumps. -- nickel76nicky

 ORANGE BALLS
1 1/8 cups vanilla wafers, crushed
3/4 cup flaked coconut
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 (6-ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar for rolling
Mix together the vanilla wafers, coconut, 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar, and frozen orange juice. Mold into 1-inch balls and roll in remaining confectioners' sugar. Store covered in the refrigerator. -- dthomasdsm

 CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER
1-1/2 cups smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
1 teaspoon hot water
In a large bowl, combine first five ingredients; stir until smooth. Combine coffee granules and water; stir until coffee dissolves. Stir coffee into peanut butter mixture. Serve with cookies or crackers. Store in an airtight container. Makes about 2 cups. -- nickel76nicky

  5-IN-1 NO-BAKE COOKIES
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup honey or corn syrup
1/4 cup orange juice concentrate
1 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk solids
Combine thoroughly. Now add ingredients from one of the following five options:

OR's
2 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cup raisins
Mix. Shape into balls, then flatten. Makes 3 dozen medium cookies.

Crispy Balls
4 cups crispy cereal
Mix. Shape into small balls. Makes 4 dozen small balls.

Raisin Clusters
1/4 cup cocoa
4 cups raisins
Mix. Cluster into small balls. Makes about 4 dozen small clusters.

Coc O Balls
1/4 cup cocoa
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup chopped peanuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix. Shape into balls. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookie balls.

Grahamys
Add 1/4 cup raisins.
Spread between graham crackers. Makes about 3 dozen. -- dthomasdsm


 GRASSHOPPER GRAB-ITS Defrost frozen Chinese snow peas (if using fresh, parboil or steam them for a minute). Slit each one open along the straight edge and stuff with a little soft herb cheese or similar filling. For extra fun, serve on a plate of coconut grass (shredded coconut shaken in a plastic bag with some green food coloring). -- nickel76nicky

 GRAPE CATERPILLAR Load green and red seedless grapes on a wooden skewer from tip to tip (remove sharp tips for young kids), then insert two slivers of carrot in the first grape for antennae. -- nickel76nicky

 EASY S'MORES Spread one graham cracker with chocolate frosting or chocolate peanut butter and the other with marshmallow creme and sandwich together. -- nickel76nicky
