If cold and snowy weather is beginning to make your family feel a bit cooped up, you can put the freeze on the winter blahs with this cheery reminder of warmer days to come.

Materials
  • Snow person
  • Outgrown dress or large shirt
  • Sticks
  • Mittens or gloves

  • Basket
  • Plastic flowers

Instructions
  1. First, build a basic snow person shape (you might need to use a thinner middle section to accommodate the clothing), then dress it in an outgrown dress or large shirt (a button-up is easiest), stuffing it with snow as needed.

  2. Insert strong sticks in the sleeves for arms and add mittens or gloves (we used oven mitts) for hands.

  3. Add some features, such as nuts or stones for eyes, lettuce hair, a red pepper mouth, or a mushroom nose, as we did with ours. Then top off your snow lady with a summery hat and kerchief, sunglasses, and a basket of plastic flowers supported from behind with a stick.
