Snappy wraps from FamilyFun

This felt mitten makes a festive cover-up for a jar of homemade jelly, bubble bath, a chunky candle or even a flashlight. (For extra padding, first wrap the item in tissue paper or Bubble Wrap.)

Help your child cut two large matching mitten shapes from a piece of felt. (Remember that they need to be at least 2 inches taller and wider than the gift you plan to cover.) Apply glue all along the edge of one cutout, except for the wrist. Set the second cutout on top of the first and press the edges together to seal the seam. Now decorate the mitten by gluing on a felt Christmas tree or another holiday symbol. Let the glue dry thoroughly. Next, snip two holes in the felt 1 inch up from the center of the wrist hem on the front and the back of the mitten. Slip the mitten over the gift. Lastly, thread ribbon through the holes and tie the ends into a bow.
