Inspired by our annual holiday cookie exchanges, I created a year-round cookie club. To start, my kids, Patrick, age seven, and Erin, three, and I decorated an empty coffee tin and filled it with homemade cookies. Next, we sent an invitation to a family in our neighborhood stating that if they wanted to participate in our cookie club, they'd have to redecorate the tin in a seasonal theme, refill it, and return it to us the next month. We would then do the same, returning it to them the month after, and so on. The idea has been so successful that now there are many tins to decorate and many more families in the club.
