The Magic Mother's Day Box allows Mom to bask in adoration all day with a steady flow of little surprises, favors and gifts before she resumes a 364-day stretch of getting wads of gum out of pants pockets and stuff like that.
•Decorate a small box (we used a shoe box).
•Buy or make a few presents (such as a package of fancy tea, chocolates or coupons that Mom would appreciate getting and place them in the box.
•Then (the magic) write out a fun schedule of when you'd like her to open each gift. It's a great chance for kids to think up creative gifts they can give Mom that cost little or no money.
