Computer Desk:
Cut off and discard the bottom of a soap box, then trim the front and back to create desk legs. Glue on a thin cardboard rectangle for a desk surface. For a desktop computer, cut a curved section from the side of a foam tray and glue on a Mylar or foil "monitor screen."
Sheer Curtains:
Snip a series of small holes in the tops of colored plastic-wrap rectangles. Thread a plastic straw "curtain rod" through the holes.
Lamps:
For a floor lamp, cut a 5-inch length from a plastic straw and
insert an end into the top of a thread spool. Fit a dish soap cap "shade" onto the other end. For a desk lamp, cut a short length from the top of a flexible plastic straw. Fit one end over the tip of a golf tee. Use modeling clay to attach a plastic cap shade.
Framed Painting:
Cut a square from a foam tray, then
cut a second square from the center of the first one and discard. Glue the frame onto a cardboard back. Glue a stamp or drawing onto the cardboard.
Closet Pole and Coat Hangers:
Fit the ends of a plastic straw pole through holes cut in the cardboard walls. Use pliers to reshape paper clips into mini hangers.
