Matchbox Locket

Fill this treasure box with trinkets, photos, or anything else your child wants to keep near (and dear!) to her heart.
- Materials

- Ruler
- Decorative paper
- Small, empty matchbox
- Craft glue
- Thumbtack
- Wooden skewer
- Large-eyed needle
- Narrow ribbon
- Instructions

Measure and cut a piece of paper to wrap around the box, then cut two more pieces to cover the ends of the drawer. Glue the paper to the box and let it dry completely.

Remove the drawer and use the thumbtack to punch two holes, side-by-side, in the side of the box. Use the pointed end of the skewer to slightly enlarge the holes.

Use the needle to thread the ribbon down through one hole and up through the other, then knot the ribbon against the outside of the box.

Line the drawer with matching paper, then slide it back in place. Decorate the outside of the box with a shape cut from coordinating paper. Have your child fill the box with treasures.
