Birthday Party Craft: Cardboard Guitar

Create a buzz at your superstar's next party by having guests customize their own guitars, perfect for a Rockin' Good Time party.

- Sheets of corrugated cardboard (we used the sides of large moving boxes)
- Craft knife
- Hot glue
- Markers
- Colored paper
- Glue stick
- Duct tape
- String
- Double-sided tape
- Gems, buttons, and other decorative items

Draw a guitar body on a cardboard sheet (our bodies were about 16 inches long). Score the lines with a craft knife, then cut out the shape. With hot glue, attach it to a second sheet of cardboard, then cut around the shape to form a double-layered body. (The two layers make the guitar sturdy, but a single layer will do in a pinch.) -
Cut two 2- by 18-inch cardboard strips for the neck and a 6-inch-long headstock (the piece with the tuning pegs). Assemble and glue the pieces together as shown.
