Foam Flyers

Don't toss those Styrofoam food trays! Recycle them into a fleet of UFFOs: unbelievably fun flying objects.
- Materials

- Clean Styrofoam trays
- Pencil
- Tape
- Bendable straws
- Rubber bands
- Instructions

For each, trace and cut a plane from a clean Styrofoam tray (download our template). -
With a dull pencil tip, score the top of the tail stabilizers, then fold them up. Tape a bendable straw to the bottom so that the straw extends about 3/4 inch from the front of the plane. -
To launch it, hook a rubber band around the tip of the bent straw, as shown. Hold the rubber band, gently pull back on the tail, aim up (away from people!), and let fly.
