For kids who are struggling with math at school, you might want to engage them in some hands-on math at home. Easy projects, such as puzzlers, tricks, and games, don't necessarily teach arithmetic or geometry, but they reinforce some basic skills: logic and reasoning, and estimation and analysis.
The following projects may give your kids a boost--and they'll enjoy them so much they won't even know they're doing math:
-
For counting and sorting, try collecting buttons
For basic geometry, try making a sugar cube pyramid
For a fun with numbers game, make this math board game
