HOW TO HOST YOUR ONLINE REUNION
Photo-sharing Web sites (we've simulated one here) such as Shutterfly, PhotoWorks, and Flickr let you post scanned photos online and gather comments from family and friends. Many copy shops have do-it-yourself scanners that let you transfer photos easily and inexpensively to CDs. You can also mail photographs to companies that offer batch-scanning services.
Once your photos are up, send an e-mail to your relatives inviting them to view the photos and share their stories.
FAVORITE SITES
We like these sites for posting and sharing photos, or creating an entire album online:

This is our favorite site for posting pictures, gathering comments, and making a photo book. You can even create your own family URL. The site offers a host of book options, including a number of covers, designs, fonts, and layouts. And you can include up to 16 photos per page. The site also alerts you if you've added too many words, so you can either trim the text or put it in a smaller font size. The downside: some layouts allow for only minimal text. Prices for an 8 1/2- by 11-inch Classic Book start at $30 for 20 pages; additional pages cost $1 each.
Kodak lets you do it all: post and share photos, invite comments, and create a photo book online. The albums look great, there's plenty of room to print your stories, and the site even warns you if a photo doesn't have enough resolution to reproduce well. Prices for a 9- by 10 1/4-inch Classic Photo Book start at $30 for 20 pages.
Custom-designed for posting, sharing, and gathering comments of any length, this is a great, user-friendly site for anyone who wants to post photos but doesn't plan on making a photo book online.
