FAIRY LAND Start off with a beautiful color for walls, maybe blush pink or yellow. Then randomly place cute fairy wallies on the wall and take some glittery paint to make swirls of the fairies' trails where they "flew." I think it's cute to hide little fairies around, like get a pot of flowers and tuck a fairy in it, or have one sitting in the window. What about one of those ficus trees or flowering trees, and sit little fairies in that and put the tree in the corner of the room, or next to the bed? You can always find little figurines of fairies too. -- sixpalms
PRINCESS ROOM My 8-year-old has a princess room. Here is what we have: four walls, each a different color (teal, pink, purple, yellow). We found a bedcover in those four colors. We did the canopy with PVC pipe and yards of fabric. They are like drapes, and when closed you can't see the princess. --way2hard
PRINCESS DAYBED What about a canopy over a daybed: Attach towel holder racks to the ceiling, then drape the fabric through them. -- Kat
PRINCESS BUNK-BED PLAYHOUSE I once saw a bunk bed almost totally hidden by a pink and purple fabric castle. It had the pointed tops with flags on each side, and an open area over the ladder so it looked like you had to climb up into the castle. There was no bottom bed under the bunk but a door cut in the fabric so you had a playhouse too. The room had a mint green carpet and bright pink walls and blue sky. --Lynn
FANTASY SHAPES If you can draw or get an overhead, make a castle, unicorn, prince, or anything else on foam core board. That way if she doesn't want to be a princess anymore, you may not have to repaint! --way2hard
FROG PRINCE FOR A PRINCESS In any princess room, don't forget the giant green stuffed-animal frog to perch in the corner! --FishinAround
