ITEMS USED:

Costume pattern
Black wig
Gray fabric
Lightweight wood pieces for side, roof, steering wheel and front wheel
Suede-like fabric

DESCRIPTION AND HOW COSTUME IS MADE:

The Fred Flintstone costume is made from a store-bought pattern. To make Fred's car, build side frames for the wheelchair from lightweight pieces of wood. Then, cover the wheelchair wheels and the wood-constructed front wheel with gray fabric to look like the stone wheels of the Flintstone mobile. The roof is likewise made from wood and then covered with the suede-like fabric. The frame for the roof attaches to the handles of the wheelchair. Cut a steering wheel from wood and place it on wooden dowels that attach to the wheelchair frame.
