- Total Time Needed:
- 1 Hour
Imagine seeing this lacy beauty on your doorknob or bedpost, brimming with Hanukkah gelt or small gifts.
- Materials
-
- 1 piece of heavy paper for inner layer, 14" square
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Scissors
- 3 pieces of decorative paper for outer layer, 8 ½" x 11" (try rice paper or gift wrap)
- Glue
- Stapler
- Ribbons and trim
- Instructions
-
-
On the heavy paper, draw a circle 14 inches in diameter. Make a mark at the top of the circle. Next, use a ruler to measure a 12-inch line from that mark to the edge of the circle; make a second mark there. Do the same on the other side of the circle so you have three marks, spaced equally around the circle?s circumference. -
Next, draw straight lines from all three marks into the center and cut along those lines to create three pie slices. Take one slice and trace it onto the wrong side of a piece of the decorative outer paper, adding a half inch extra on all sides. Cut out the decorative paper shape.
-
Glue the heavy inner paper shape onto the wrong side of the decorative outer paper. Along the rounded edge, snip the decorative paper border every half inch. Fold these flaps onto the inner paper and glue. Fold the straight sides onto the inner paper and glue.
-
Now roll the paper into a cone, overlapping the edges 1 1/2 inches at the top, and glue. Add trim at the top, staple ribbon handles to the cone, and they're ready to be filled with treats.
