Help your child make a shining lantern to brighten the night -- and watch her glow with de-light.

Materials

• tissue paper
• brush
• plastic jar
• white glue

• pipe cleaner
• electrical tape
• battery-powered tea light

Instructions

1. First, tear tissue paper into 1- to 2-inch pieces (we used about 35).

2. Have your child use a brush to coat a clean plastic jar with white glue, then stick on overlapping squares of paper, adding more glue as needed.

3. While the glue dries, attach the ends of a pipe cleaner to the lid with electrical tape, as shown.

4. Finally, put a battery-powered tea light in the jar and screw on the lid.
