Hopscotch Game

This patio-stone version of hopscotch is a winner on every count.
- Materials

- 10 patio stepping stones (available at home-supply stores)
- Fine sandpaper (120 to 140 grit)
- White latex paint (1 quart)
- Paintbrushes
- Acrylic paint in assorted colors
- Stencils
- Sponges
- Chunky rubber stamps
- Acrylic sealant, spray- or brush-on

Sand each patio stone.

Paint the tops and sides white. Allow the paint to dry; apply a second coat, if necessary.

Use acrylic paint to number the stones.

Decorate the stones with handprints, pictures, stencils, sponges, or stamps.

Apply 3 to 4 coats of acrylic sealant, allowing each coat to dry between applications.

- When setting up your hopscotch game, bury the stones to their tops in peat moss or wood chips to help prevent tripping.
