Water Works

Ways to play with water from FamilyFun

Little squirt may look fierce, but he's really a softy. Just give him a Little Squirts squeeze. His body is a dish soap bottle (thoroughly rinsed out, of course) to which we've added gaping jaws, with the option of substituting an elephant or dinosaur face. The interchangeable heads are cut from scrap plastic, placed over the bottle's neck and secured with the screw-on nozzle. The holster is a plastic detergent jug (28-ounce size) with the spout cut off. We decorated ours with plastic stars (secured with paper fasteners) and slung it on a plastic belt. Fill the Squirt with clean water and you're ready for these wet and wild games.

BLAST THE BLOB: Each team places a big heap of shaving cream on a home base (a tree, a side of a house, a telephone pole, etc.). As in capture the flag, team members try to defend their own shaving cream (using garbage can lid shields and--the ultimate sacrifice--their own bodies) while trying to blast away the other team's blob.

SQUIRT PONG: Race to see who can be the first to push a Ping-Pong ball across the driveway, or around a driveway obstacle course, using only the spray from her squirter.
