Super styles from FamilyFun

tie style Give your daughter's satin ribbons and bows a day off, and opt for a more whimsical look by using scraps of cotton fabric to dress up her hair.

STYLE PREP

Let your child dig into the cloth remnant pile (either at the fabric store or at home) for colorful pieces that match her outfit or her mood. Cut the fabric into strips (ours were 1 by 6 inches).

TURNING HEADS

Use the fabric strips to tie up small sections fabric tie of hair. Cover your child's whole noggin with cloth twists, or simply tie up her bangs.

TIP: If your child has supersilky hair, first secure each section with a ponytail holder or a BLAX rubber band (available at beauty supply stores, these tiny coated rubber bands won't pull hair), then tie the strip over it.
