Super styles from FamilyFun

headband No fairy dust required for this easy-to-make accessory, but it does look magical and will strike a chord with the Cinderella- and fairy-loving set.

STYLE PREP

Start with a thin, inexpensive, store-bought headband that's covered with cloth or braid. Next, tie two colors of narrow ribbon headband onto the headband in two spots and use a dot of hot glue (a parent's job) to hold the knot in place if needed. Trim the ribbons to the length you like. Finishing touch: Glue flower appliqués onto the band and the ribbons (appliqués are available at craft stores and average $1.50 for a pack of four to six).

TIP: To keep the ribbon ends from unraveling, either cut them on an angle or sandwich the ends of each ribbon between two flowers and hot-glue.

TURNING HEADS

Slip it on like any other headband, and your daughter can transform herself into a princess, flower child or fair maiden for the day.
