Hair mascara is exactly what the name implies–hair color that you apply with that distinctive mascara brush. It's perfect for experimenting since it washes away in a single shampoo.

This stuff's available in colors including green, red and silver glitter (Hairlites by Jerome Russell or Custom Highlights by Salon Selectives, each about $6).TURNING HEADS
For medium-length hair, try hair antennae. Part your child's hair in the middle.
Pull a few strands on each side of her face forward and pin the rest back. Grab a wand and create antennae by painting the strands together. Paint in small sections from scalp to tip. For longer hair, put your child's hair in a ponytail, then stripe the tail.
TIP: If the antennae separate, wet your fingers and glide them down the antennae, pushing the mascara-covered strands together.
