Hung by the bathroom sink, this stringer of fish-shaped soap will help get kids into the habit of scrubbing their hands during cold and flu season.

Materials

• 2-pound block of clear glycerin soap
• Wooden skewer
• Blue food coloring
• 8-inch square baking pan

• Waxed paper
• Fish-shaped cookie cutter (available at craft supply stores)
• 25-inch length of cotton twine
• Clear tape

Instructions

1. Melt the soap in a microwave according to the package directions. With the wooden skewer, stir in drops of food coloring until you get your desired color.
   

2. Line the baking pan with waxed paper and pour in the melted soap. Allow it to cool until it's just firm, about 20 minutes, then lift the waxed paper to remove the soap from the pan.

3. Use the cookie cutter to create six fish, then poke an eye and mouth hole in each with the wooden skewer, as shown below.

4. Knot one end of the twine and wrap the other end with a piece of tape.

5. Thread the taped end through each mouth hole, knotting the twine between each fish to separate them.
