Knotted Anklet
- Total Time Needed:
- 1 Hour
This knotted anklet is such a cinch to make, it won't be long before your child is mass-producing colorful thread jewelry for all his friends.
- Materials
-
- Scissors
- Embroidery thread (2 or more colors)
- 1 button
- Masking tape
- Instructions
-
-
Cut eight to ten 3-foot lengths of embroidery thread and arrange them in a bunch so that the ends match up.
-
At one end of the bunch, tie a loop that's slightly bigger than the button and tape it to a stationary surface. Separate one thread from the rest.
-
Wrap it around the bunch and then up over itself, as shown above. Pull it taut. -
Continue wrapping and knotting the same strand around the bunch until you wish to change colors.
-
Simply separate a new thread from the group and blend the last one back in. Change colors as often as you like.
-
When you're near the end, tie a tight overhand knot.
-
Thread the loose ends through the button holes, tie them in a knot, and trim off any excess.
