Turn a box lid and drinking straws into a handheld game.The best part: no batteries required!

Materials

• Glue
• Construction paper
• Plastic straws
• Scissors

• Marble
• Shoe box lid
• White paper

Instructions

1. Glue a piece of construction paper inside a shoe box lid.

2. Glue paper "Start" and "Finish" tabs at either end of the lid, as shown, then sketch a labyrinth of passages and dead ends.

3. Cut plastic straws into segments and glue them over the sketched lines.

4. To play, place a marble in the starting spot, then tilt the lid to move it through the maze. For a challenge, see who can complete the maze the fastest.

Tips:

Make sure the paths are wide enough for the marble you plan to use.
