Getting out of the house is hard enough when you have three young children, but it becomes decidedly more challenging when you misplace things as often as I do. I used to think Kyle and Jake liked to play the recurring game "Where Are Mommy's Car Keys?" Apparently I was wrong, since I received the following gift from them, which will probably hang on my kitchen wall until the end of time.
MATERIALS
Wooden blocksCarpenter's wood glue
Acrylic paints
Paintbrushes
Cup hooks
Picture-frame hanger
Use blocks and wood glue to create a small-scale replica of the recipient's house (or neighborhood). Your kids can paint it with acrylics, again using the actual one (Grammy's cottage or Uncle Dave's apartment) as a model. Along the bottom, screw in cup hooks. Finally, affix a picture-frame hanger on the back so the key holder can hang on a nail.
