This present is just the right size for paper clips, stamps and a million other things. But, when you lacquer on images of the recipient's favorite things, like the fishing regalia my husband cherishes or the stamps that their aunt, a collector, adores, the
real gift becomes the chance to see oneself through
the eyes of the giver.
MATERIALS
Peanut canister (cylindrical cardboard kind with foil lining)Magazines, catalogs or photos
White glue or clear glaze (available at craft stores)
Remove the lid from a clean peanut can. The kids can clip out letters, pictures or family photos the person receiving the gift might like. Glue the pictures on the canister. The giver can finish the gift by gluing a photo of himself onto the plastic lid. After it dries, paint everything with glaze or white glue that dries clear.
