Monster Hats

Take a store-bought hat, add eerie button eyes, some seemingly sharp teeth, and what do you have? One monstrous piece of headwear. Use our examples as guides to create your own slightly terrifying toque.

Materials
  • store-bought hat
  • buttons
  • embroidery floss
  • fleece
  • fabric glue
  • scissors

Instructions
  1. Monster Hats - February 2011 - Step 1 For eyes, use embroidery floss to sew on stacks of fleece circles and buttons, then add decorative stitches.

  2. Monster Hats - February 2011 - Step 2 Cut teeth from white fleece, then attach them with fabric glue to the hat's brim.
