Small pieces of felted wool can have a big impact when they're turned into beautiful jewelry. Repurpose an old wool sweater or two into stunning accessories by felting the fabric -- shrinking the wool until it's thick and ravel-proof.

Materials
  • Felted wool made from old wool sweaters
  • Scissors
  • Embellishments, such as paper flowers
  • Leather cording
  • Jewelry clasp

Instructions
  1. To felt the wool, wash the sweaters in hot water and dry them on high heat. Repeat, if necessary, so that the fabric's weave is tight enough to be cut without fraying.

  2. Poke or cut pairs of holes in the center of a felt shape or shapes, as well as any other embellishments.

  3. Thread leather cording through the slits, then tie the cording or add a jewelry clasp.
