You can say it's for the birds, but this little lodge--built from a single board--is a great starter project for young carpenters. Predrill the nail holes, and it's even more of a cinch for a child to put together.

6-foot long 1- by 6- inch red cedar board
6-penny stainless steel ring-shanked siding nails or galvanized box nails
Stainless steel 1 5/8-inch trim screw
2 galvanized eye hooks
