Dream Weaver
Construction-paper place mats aren't the only things you can weave. Try drawing a picture and turning one section of it into a checkerboard or a plaid kilt, or the curious feathers of an odd bird.
HERE'S HOW: Use an X-Acto knife (parents only) to cut a row of parallel slits in one part of the drawing.
Your child can cut colored paper strips to weave over and under the slits. Tape the ends to the back of the drawing.
