Pet Rocks

Part of the fun with this '70s-inspired craft is hunting for the perfect rocks to decorate, making it a fitting project for after a nature hike or during a birthday party.

- Rocks and pebbles
- Glue (hot glue lasts longest, but white glue and glue sticks work well and are easier with a crowd of kids)
- Googly eyes and pom-poms
- Fun fur
- Scissors
- Acrylic paints and paintbrushes

Set out the rocks and decorating supplies on a big table.

Look for natural features in the rocks that resemble noses, chins, ears, and so on.

Stick pebbles, googly eyes, and pom-poms in place with the glue. Kids can also use fun fur for hair, mustaches, and beards or apply additional features with acrylic paint.
