Instructions
  1. step1 To make each blossom, first cut the top 3 ½ inches from one of the bottles. Discard the cap, then trim the cut end into rounded petal shapes (mark the cut lines first, if you like).

  2. step2 Paint the outside of the flower (we used Paint for Plastic from Plaid, available at Michaels), then let the paint dry.

  3. step3 For the flower's sepals, make snips in one long side of a 2- by 4-inch rectangle of green craft foam to create ¼- to ½-inch-wide tabs, as shown.

  4. step4 Trim the ends of the tabs to points, then secure the foam around the bottle neck with green plastic tape (we used Scotch brand), stretching the tape as you wrap it to help it adhere well.

  5. Spring Bulbs - Step 5 To hang each flower, tightly twist two 5-inch lengths of green floral wire around the mouth of the bottle, as shown.

  6. Spring Bulbs - Step 6 Place each flower over a bulb on the light string, then twist the free ends of the wires around the light strand to hold the flower in place.

  7. step7 Finally, cut out a number of 3-inch craft foam leaves and punch a hole in each one, then attach them to the light string with floral wire. (Be sure to follow the manufacturer's safety guidelines regarding the use of the light string.)
