Stamped Dough Ornaments

Total Time Needed:
Afternoon Or Evening

Kids of all ages will enjoy making these ornaments. All they have to do is stamp, bake and decorate.

Materials
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • Cookie stamps
  • Straw
  • Acrylic paint and brushes
  • Mod-Podge, optional
X

Instructions
  1. Mix flour, salt and water together. Knead well, and add more water if the mixture cracks when squeezed into a small ball. (Makes enough for 25 ornaments.)

  2. Make a 1-inch ball of dough, and smash it with a cookie stamp (available at craft and department stores). Use a straw to poke a hole for hanging. Poke holes in the tops and bottoms of the disks if you want to attach them to each other.

  3. Preheat oven to 300 degrees and bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Let ornaments dry for a few days, then paint.

Tips:
If you like, after they're painted, seal the ornaments with a shiny coat of Mod-Podge.
