Stylin' Sleep Masks

Total Time Needed:
1 Hour

Superstars need their beauty rest, and these nighttime shades have diva written all over them. You can either prep the masks ahead of time and let partygoers decorate them, or have guests make them from start to finish. The instructions below are for 3 masks.

Materials
  • Paper (for the template)
  • 9- by 12-inch sheet of flexible, self-adhesive black felt, such as Presto Felt (available at Jo-Ann Stores)
  • Scissors
  • 1/4 yard of satin
  • Hot-glue gun
  • 3 (10-inch-long) pieces of 1/4-inch-wide black elastic
  • Decorative details, such as strands of sequins, glittery puffy paint, plastic jewels, pom-poms, and craft foam shapes
  • Craft glue or clear adhesive dots, such as Zots brand
X

Instructions
  1. To start, draw a sleep-mask shape on a piece of paper or trace our 8- by 3 3/4-inch template. Cut out the template.

  2. Stylin' Sleep Masks - Step 2 Affix the felt to the back of the satin. Using a pencil (we used a marker in the photo for visibility), lightly trace the template onto the fabric 3 times, then cut out the masks.

  3. For each, hot-glue the ends of a piece of elastic to each side of the felt and allow it to dry completely, about 3 minutes.

  4. Affix decorative details to the satin, such as a string of sequins or craft foam shapes, with craft glue or clear adhesive dots.
