Roll a small ball of clay for the cake platter. -
Flatten it into a thick disk. -
Roll a slightly larger ball of clay for the cake. -
Form it into a cake shape and set it on the platter. -
For cake icing, roll a snake of clay and a bunch of small clay balls. -
Assemble each candle from short lengths of 24-gauge oven-safe wire and clay as shown. -
Press the icing onto the cake. Add 3 clay balls to the top and push a candle wire through the middle of each ball. Bake the cake according to the directions on the clay package.
