Treasure Box
Homemade gifts he'll love from FamilyFun
This present is just the right size for paper clips, stamps and a million other things. But, when children lacquer on images of their father's favorite things, like the fishing regalia he adores or the stamps he collects, the
real gift becomes the chance for a father to see himself through his children's eyes.
MATERIALS
Peanut canister (cylindrical cardboard kind with foil lining)
Magazines, catalogs or photos
White glue or clear glaze (available at craft stores)
Remove the lid from a clean peanut can. Your child can clip out letters, pictures or family photos he thinks his father will like and then glue the pictures on the canister. Encourage your child to finish the gift by gluing a photo of himself onto the plastic lid. After it dries, paint everything with glaze or white glue that dries clear.
