Turn Over a New Leaf
A "My Great Idea" from FamilyFun
My two daughters, Lauren, age nine, and Lisa, 12, love to collect colorful leaves in the fall. To preserve them, we decided to seal them in clear Con-Tact paper, and that gave us the idea to make a Thanksgiving tree with them. Every year, we all pick two or three of the pressed leaves and write one thing we're grateful for on the front of each with permanent markers, then we put the date on the back. We tape a trunk made out of construction paper to the wall and add the leaves, new and old. The girls get a big kick out of looking back to see what we've been grateful for in the past.
