Fox in Socks Relay Race

Balance box upon box in this crazy relay. Time to let the fun begin without delay.

WHAT YOU NEED:
	Socks
	Recycled Boxes (cereal boxes, shoe boxes, and shirt boxes)
	Colorful wrapping paper
	Paints
	Tape

 
HOW TO PLAY:
1. Before playing, decorate the boxes. For example, wrap them in funky wrapping paper or paint them bright colors with crazy designs.

2. Create two teams of even numbers of participants. Split those teams in two and have each half stand at opposite ends of the room.

3. Give each child a pair of socks (for their hands) and a box. The child in the front of the line should have the smallest box and the boxes should get larger the further back in line they go.

4. One by one, have the kids run with their boxes across the room to their teammate, place the box at his feet, and then go to the back of the line. Have the next child stack her box on top (stack the boxes so the smallest one is on the bottom) and pick up the boxes and cross the room again. If a pile of boxes is dropped, then the child must re-stack and start again from his original spot. The first team to hand off all their boxes successfully wins.

VARIATIONS:
To challenge older kids, place obstacles in their path to make the game more difficult.
