Kentucky Card Derby Game

Suit up for a neck-and-neck race to the finish. Here's how your family can stage some racing excitement on your own turf with a simple card game that can be just as unpredictable as the Derby itself.

WHAT YOU NEED:
	Playing cards

 
HOW TO PLAY:
1. To get things off and running, have each player choose a suit. Take the corresponding jacks (jockeys, if you will) from the deck and place them side by side and faceup on a tabletop.

2. Shuffle the rest of the deck and set it facedown beside the jacks.

3. Take turns flipping over the card at the top of the deck. If the card matches a player's suit, he gets to lay the card faceup end to end with his jack; if not, it goes into the discard pile.

4. Continue in this manner until all of the cards have been used or discarded. The person with the longest track of cards wins.
