Healthy Halloween party treats

Keep little mischief makers out of trouble by playing party games. Traditional Halloween favorites like bobbing for apples or jack-o'-lantern carving contests are always a hit.

Your grandmother used to peel an apple on Halloween, throw the peel over her shoulder and read the initial of her future husband in the shape it made when it fell.

Here are a few other games to try:

• Fill a glass jar with candy corn and have your guests guess how many are in the jar; the winner gets to keep the candy.

•Play mummy wrap, where each child has a partner and a roll of toilet paper, and they take turns wrapping each other.

•If you have room to spread out the paper, have the kids create a glow-in-the-dark mural with fluorescent paint on a sheet of black paper.
