Use this beard to create an Honest Abe, wizard, or lumberjack costume.

Materials

• Beard templates
• Marker
• Scissors
• Fun fur
• Felt

• Glue (we used Beacon's Kids Choice)
• Headband
• Tacky glue or hot glue
• Binder clips

Instructions

1. Download templates for our three beard shapes. Mark and cut a shape out of fun fur (always cut from the non-furry side).

2. Cut a matching shape out of felt, trimming it so that it's slightly smaller. Adhere this felt backing to the fun fur with glue (we used Beacon's Kids Choice).

3. Have your child put on a headband, then hold the beard to his face to see where the beard's edges should be attached to the band, as shown. Secure the edges to the band with tacky glue, clamping it in place with binder clips until the glue dries (or use hot glue, an adult's job).
