Everyone loves candy, and who doesn't want to be a superhero? This year, why not give your little guy a superhero identity of his own…The Caped Candy Crusader! The great thing about this costume is its versatility. No two caped candy crusaders ever look the same. Use the directions below as a guide, but feel free to improvise and make the costume your own. The secret to success with this one is raiding Dad's closet and workshop to find superbly super accessories.

Materials
  • A red T-shirt
  • 1 pieces of orange felt, one piece of yellow Felt
  • Glue gun
  • Large swatch of fabric or solid-colored tablecloth (for cape)
  • Tool belt
  • Rubber gloves
  • Scissors
  • Optional: Flashlight, toy laser gun, goggles

Instructions
  1. Cut orange felt into a 12" circle and then cut out the yellow felt in the shape of the first letter of your child's name, making sure it will fit inside the circle.

  2. Glue the initial onto the circle and then the circle onto the T-shirt.

  3. Look around the house for accessories that you can use to outfit the tool/utility belt, such as a flashlight, a toy laser gun, a rope or lasso, and maybe a pouch for carrying special pieces of candy.

  4. Complete the outfit with goggles, rubber gloves and the fabric cape, draped over the shoulders and tied with a knot at the neck.
