Looking for a twist on the traditional pumpkin? Hi, I'm Forbes Riley here in the kitchen with Family Fun. Made from two bundt cakes, this jack o lantern will light up any party.
You'll need two bundt cakes, five cups of orange frosting, a tube of green icing, one flat bottomed green ice cream cone, six large white gum drops, six large orange gum drops, sugar, two tablespoons chocolate chips, and clear edible cake glitter. First, trim the bottoms of the cakes so they lie flat against each other. Frost the flat surface of the bottom cake and place the other cake on top. Frost the entire cake orange. When the frosting dries, add the ice cream cone to create a stem and top with green icing leaves. Sprinkle some sugar over your work surface and use a rolling pin to flatten twelve large orange and white gum drops together into a pancake about one quarter inch thick. Then, use a pizza cutter to cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth, but remember, this is a parents job. Microwave two tablespoons of chocolate chips for about sixty seconds. For a nice 3D effect, use a knife to spread some melted chocolate on the left side and the bottom for the facial features and then let the chocolate dry. Dab a small amount of water on the surface of each feature, sprinkle the edible glitter on top then press the facial features onto the cake. This tasty treat is a way to have your pumpkin and eat it, too.
