Hi, I'm Lee Woodruff in the kitchen with Family Fun. These crunchy winter treats make for a fun, easy snack when it's too cold outside to make a real snowman.
You'll need gummy rings, gumdrops, pretzel rods, plastic spoons, mini chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, sugar, and fruit by the foot. First, make the noses by pinching a piece off a gumdrop and rolling it in sugar. Next, after you've melted the chips, use a plastic spoon to spread the chocolate about half way down the pretzel. It's a little messy, but that's part of the fun. Use the mini chocolate chips for the eyes and buttons and orange gum drops for the carrot nose. Let the pretzel sit until the chocolate hardens. For the scarves, cut a strip of fruit by the fruit lengthwise. Wrap it around your snowman's neck and trim and fringe the ends. To make the hats, place the gummy ring on top of the pretzel. Then, dip a gumdrop in melted chocolate and attach on top. Don't worry if the snowmen are less than perfect. Even if they're a little crooked, the kids will have a great time putting them together. They're also easy to mass produce for holiday gifts for the whole class.
