Well here's a fun summer project that will have your kids stepping out in style. Hi everybody I'm Forbes Riley, and I'm Caroline, and were here at the craft table with Family Fun. Your kids will have a blast personalizing their own flip flops.
You'll need cloth ribbon, fringe or similar trim, scissors, a low temperature glue gun, or fabric glue and flip flops with foam soles. Choose a trim, and cut a length to fit around the outer wall of each sole with a half inch overlap. Then, cut separate pieces of trim for the left and right sides of the foot straps, as well. Again, the pieces should overlap about a half an inch where the ends meet in the center. To attach the trim to the sole, apply a line of hot glue evenly to a two inch section of the foam. Firmly press the end of the trim onto the glued portion so that it sticks well. Then smooth it towards the unglued section. Continue applying glue and attaching the trim in two inch increments until you fully circle the sole. Use the same method to attach the two pieces of strap trim. Allow the glue to dry for at least an hour before your child takes her newly decorated footwear for a walk. For a colorful combo you can attach trim using a nontoxic washable fabric glue and create a matching summer cap.
