Get your party goers fired up. I'm Lee Woodruff, and this is Ray, in the kitchen with Family Fun. This fire engine cake will be a hit at any birthday party.
You'll need one baked thirteen by nine by two inch cake, four cups of red frosting, one cup of gray frosting, one cup of white frosting, red M&M's, chocolate sandwich cookies, pretzel rods and sticks, yellow and green gumdrops, black jelly beans , white Chiclets, mini jaw breakers, and black shoestring and twist licorice. Freeze the cake for 2 to 3 hours, then cut in half length wise, like this. Next, take one of your sides and cut in half along the width, like so. Repeat this step again. Finally, cut your last piece in half to create two, one inch pieces. Now create your truck by stacking the cake pieces, like this. Use frosting to help them stick together. Frost the bed and bottom half of the cab red, use white frosting on the top half of the cab and gray for the controls. With a dab of frosting, place an M&M in the center of each cookie to make the wheels. Then press onto the engine. Add a pretzel ladder, a jelly bean horn, gum drop emergency lights, jaw breaker controls, and Chiclet headlights. Use licorice to make a hose and outline the windows of the cab. This fire red confection will make any party of the hottest bash on the block.
