Hi, I'm Lee Woodruff with the Family Fun Minute. Whether you want to mold an army of ants, sculpt your own silly little bugs, or make mini menagerie, polymer clay gives you spectacular results.
Here's a pretty critter you can make from clay and a little wire. We shape pieces of clay together for the body, used a toothpick to carve a line down the middle of the ladybug's back, then added clay dots for the ladybug's spots and eyes. A copper wire threaded through balls of clay form the basis of this colorful critter. A little more wire for the antenna and some carved facial features bring this slinky guy to life. Roll the body pieces separately for this scared looking fly, then press them together and add bent wire for legs and antenna. Kids will love crafting with clay, it's squishable, comes in dozens of colors, and provides hours of fun. For detailed project instructions and polymer clay tips and techniques visit FamilyFun.com.
