Thanksgiving can be a really hectic time of year. I'm Lee Woodruff in the kitchen with Family Fun. These quick and easy treats may look old fashioned but they're made with two kid favorites, chocolate and marshmallows.
You'll need chocolate striped short bread cookies, chocolate chips, marshmallows, tooth picks, and yellow decorator's icing. First, set the cookies stripes down on a wax paper covered tray and space them apart, like so. Now, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or a double boiler. One at a time, stick a wooden toothpick into a marshmallow and dip the marshmallow into the melted chocolate. Now quickly center it on top of the cookie. Grab a second toothpick to lightly hold down the marshmallow and carefully pull out the first toothpick. Chill the hats until the chocolate sets. Now, with the yellow decorator's icing, draw a buckle on the front of each hat. You can bet that your little pilgrims will be thankful for these tasty treats.
