Looking for the perfect birthday cake for your little princess? Hi, I'm Forbes Riley here in the kitchen with Family Fun. Now this princess castle cake, it will have her feeling like royalty.
You'll need five baked 8 inch square cakes, five to seven cups of white icing, five sugar cones, edible glitter, half a cup of pink icing, a pastry bag, silver nonpareils, gum drops, Good and Plenty candies, pink or red gel icing, mini candy hearts, red sprinkles, colored paper and tape, and five toothpicks. Cut one cake into four equal pieces and arrange three of them atop the four whole cakes, like this, securing it with icing. Frost the castle and the cones with white icing, then poke a little hole at the end of each cone; this is for the flag later. Then, sprinkle the cones with edible glitter and set them on the castle. With a pastry bag, create pink icing corner pillars and a door and then add silver nonpareil studs. Set the gumdrops and Good and Plenty's around the castle ledge. Then add decorative loops of gel icing and the mini candy hearts. Using the holes you poked out earlier, top the cone turrets with flags cut from the colored paper and tape to the toothpicks. And, finally, add the sprinkles around the top of the castle. Throw in some tiaras and slippers and you've got yourself a magical birthday bash.
